Custom Framing Services

Custom framing is more than choosing a frame. It is a combination of design, protection, materials, proportion, and craftsmanship. The right frame should complement the artwork, protect it from damage, and create a finished presentation that suits the space where it will be displayed.

Choosing the Right Frame

The frame should support the artwork, not overpower it. We consider the style, color, scale, and character of each piece when selecting mouldings, mats, and finishes. The goal is to create a balanced presentation that feels intentional and works with artwork.

Matting & Visual Balance

Matting can create visual space around the artwork and help highlight important colors and details, but it is not always necessary. The artwork itself helps determine whether a mat will enhance the presentation or make it feel too busy. We consider proportion, color, texture, and the overall composition to decide when matting is the right choice.

Glass & UV Protection

Glazing is an important part of most framing projects because it helps protect artwork from dust, fading, and everyday exposure. However, certain types of artwork and materials are better displayed without glass. For example, stretched canvas is typically framed without glazing. We consider the type of artwork, the materials involved, and the display environment before recommending the most appropriate option, whether that is regular glass, UV-protective glass, anti-reflective glazing, or museum-quality glass.

Canvas Stretching & Framing

Canvas artwork is typically stretched over wooden stretcher bars and can be displayed either with or without an outer frame. Because canvas does not usually require glazing, the focus is on proper stretching, support, proportion, and choosing a frame style that complements the artwork. We consider the size, condition, and intended display location to recommend the most appropriate presentation.

Shadow Boxes & Memorabilia

Shadow boxes are designed for dimensional or meaningful objects that need more depth than a standard frame. Jerseys, medals, keepsakes, textiles, and other memorabilia can be arranged and secured in a way that protects the items while creating a balanced, display-ready presentation.

Custom Mirrors

Custom mirrors can be designed to complement the style and proportions of a room, from clean contemporary looks to more decorative and traditional designs. We help select the right moulding, size, and finish so the mirror works naturally with the surrounding space and interior design. Antique-style mirrors can also be a beautiful choice for spaces where a more distinctive, aged, or decorative look is desired.
